The Thule 602 Ascent 1100 is the perfect rooftop cargo box for me. I wanted a rooftop box for my EvoX that was not too big, streamlined, and easy to use. The Ascent 1100 is all the above plus more. The either side opening feature and easy crossbar clamps are super features. The only negative for me is the inside hold-down straps. They are a little awkward and time consuming to use. Once pulled tight, however, they work great. The box handles multiple sets of skis and poles easily.

I ordered the Thule 602 Ascent 1100 Rooftop Cargo Box at Amazon. At first, I was delivered a damaged box which I promptly returned and Amazon did a very good job in exchanging the box with a brand new one including delivery. Not sure whether the box was delivered damaged in the beginning or whether it happened during transport, but I was happy that I could return it within reasonable time.

We purchased this rooftop box after reading on the Thule site that it works for the Honda Pilot with factory installed cross bars. This is NOT true. The Ascent 1100 can not be adjusted so the hatch will fully open - it's too long. Unfortunately the Thule site gave us bad information and we had to return. Amazon was great with all this - thanks! We ended up with the Thule Atlantis 1600. Others, we found out purchased the 604 Ascent 1600. These do fit the Honda Pilot.
